Research Experience
As a world studies registered research paper, my 4,000 word essay focused on how a broad issue such as fast fashion can have many harmful impacts on countries, such as Bangladesh. Through this paper I answered the question, ¨¨How has the rise of fast fashion affected Bangladesh in terms of the psychological effects on women garment workers and the consequences of the country's short and long term economy?¨.
ABOUT ME
I decided to center both my research paper and research experience on the consequences of fast fashion to spread more awareness about the importance of ethical fashion. This has furthered cultivated my passion towards fair trade and making my own clothing.
Research Paper
This past March, I hosted a Fast Fashion Swap & Awareness Night at Morris Knolls High School. Each participant was encouraged to bring as many items of clothing, in good condition to the swap. The clothing items that were not claimed were donated to charities that use the clothing in an ethical manner. In addition, I organized a presentation and created pamphlets for the guests to spread awareness on the consequences of fast fashion in regards to limiting human rights and damaging the environment.
