PURPOSE & GOALS

To raise awareness on the consequences of fast fashion retailers. Including how many garment workers are not given basic human rights and to the several adverse effects that dyes and clothing waste has on our environment. ​​

To show where our clothing comes and by whom it is produced.

To explain the impact that fast fashion has on garment workers and the environment.

To expose the feasibility of mending through sewing, knitting, and crocheting.

To make others aware of the impact that a local change can have on a global standpoint.

ETHICAL FASHION PRESENTATION
This presentation was centered around ​how fast fashion has re-invented how consumers buy their clothing and requires a highly responsive supply chain in order to keep up with the current fashion trends.

Dress for Success: Accepts formal clothing which is given to women as they attend interviews and enter the workforce

Market street Mission: Accepts men's and women's clothing which are used to help others through the emergency services program. The rest of the clothing is sold in the thrift store that employs men who are recovering from drug or alcohol addiction.

Jersey Women's Battered Services: Prevents domestic violence by protecting and empowering women. They use casual women's clothing which are given to women who come to these shelters with limited clothing.

Zoe Bross: Talked to guests about why fashion is a feminist issue Elysa Caso-McHugh: Made sure that guests followed instruction of the take action sheets
Avani Desai: Gave tags to guests for them to write their favorite memory of a few clothes that they donated
Kayleigh Silverstein: Helped to fold the clothing and organize the items on the racks
